How can we set limits?
You can set limits by:
User: give each cardholder their own budget
Category: set limits for types of spending
Ministry, department, or program: keep spending tied to the budget it belongs to
Can we restrict where a card is used?
Yes. You can restrict merchant types or transaction sizes, which helps protect your budgets and reduce misuse.
What happens when someone hits their limit?
The card simply declines once the limit is reached. No overspending, and no awkward conversations after the fact.
Can a card start with no money on it?
Yes. You can load a card with a fixed budget, or start it at $0 and have the cardholder send a funding request when they need to make a purchase. It's a great option for volunteers or occasional spenders.
Can purchases require approval too?
They can. You can set up approvals for certain purchases or for anything over a set amount. See How do approvals work? for details.
